Embeded lyrics in mp3 files
A friend of mine is very frustrated by winXP on his laptop
after coming over my house he saw my debian desktop and loved it =))) now he wants to move to linux but there is one problem he uses a media player that allows to view lyrics embedded into a mp3 file. as far as I can tell this is some sort of id3 tag extension inside winXP (I tried it on winXP box without that player installed). I've tried opening his files with the embedded lyrics with amarok and exaile but no luck the lyrics won't show. Is there any media player kde or gnome that can work with these kind of mp3s? |
IIRC, quodlibet lets you view/edit lyrics associated with mp3 files (it will even attempt to download them if you don’t already have them).

embedded lyrics in nightingale
I use nightingale mp3 player in Linux Mint 13 and use its built in lyrics editor to add lyrics to tracks that don't have them discovered by web searches. It's great. What I'm trying to learn is whether the same mp3 files transferred to my Android phone and tablet will be able to use those embedded lyrics. I use Winamp on my Android devices and there is a lyrics add-on that uses most of the screen to display lyrics. Nullsoft (the developer) doesn't address the issue as nearly as I can discover.
