Eclipse SDK Extensions
Hi!
I am using Fedora Core 5, and I installed Eclipse SDK 3.1.2 from the add/remove software package manager. I downloaded the Eclipse Web Tools Extension. To install it, if I'm not mistaking you should only unpack the archive in the Eclipse directory. Well, I did that, and when I started Eclipse again, nothing new appeared. Should I do something more? Does anyone have any idea? Thanks |
Actually Eclipse 3.2 is out since months. For the extensions yes, you have to unpack them into the directory and the "new thing" will be found on the list when you want to create a project (it can be Java or it can be SQL for example if you an an SQL extension) or when you want to create a new Class. You will choose from the list the one you want. A Class example will be the Visual Class that comes with the Visual Editor plugin. You will choose "Visual Class" instead of just "Class". I hope this helps.

nothing new
well, that's the problem, nothing new appeared in the list of new projects... or classes..... everything is the same!!
any ideas ? |
Try to extract the extensions somewhere and then copy all the files of each folder to the appropriate one (features and plugins). Check also the compatibility of versions.
|
I did that from the beginning... nothing
isn't there a shell command line that refreshes the new plugins... or sth like that ? |
I don't know anything like that. All the plugins I've installed were working from first place except once where the problem had to do with the versions.
|
I downloaded a version with the extensions i needed built-in....... problem slved I hope.
