Unhappy E: Couldn't find package vlc

Guys,

I'm having trouble installing VLC player in Xandros (debian)
I search on the Vlc home page and then I found this:

Debian stable (sarge)

A fairly recent version (between 0.8.1 and 0.8.2) is packaged in Sarge. However, if you want libdvdcss (DVD decryption) support, you will need to add the following lines to your /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/debian sarge main
deb-src http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/debian sarge main

For a normal install, do:

# apt-get update
# apt-get install vlc libdvdcss2

But when I do that it says:

E: Couldn't find package vlc

So uhm.. help? anyone?

Thanks,

Ermen

You might try the following:

apt-cache search vlc

If you get too many results try

apt-cache search vlc | less

| less means display results one screen at a time.

It maybe that the vlc package has a slightly different name and apt-get needs precise info.

Could it be that Xandros is based on a more recent snapshot of Debian than Sarge was?
Just wondering, since VLC is not included in the Debian/testing repository atm.
