Easiest way to run two different operating systems on separate drives is to install the OSes to the drives as normal, and then select which one you want to run at boot time by using the boot selection menu built into your system's BIOS. Most BIOS implementations have the ability to pop up a boot menu by pressing a special key during startup.

You can do that easily but be careful when you are upto it. When prompted for the disk selection / partitioning of your Hard Disk just select an option that says "Use Free Disk Space" and modify it / review it to check that it is selecting the second partition which is not in use. Then go with the default layout or customize it for the installation of Ubuntu / the second OS.

Let me now tell you something interesting:

How about running both the OSes at the same time? Well, if you want to know it then simply install VirtualBox for Linux Host OS and then you can install any other OS on the top of your RHEL. VirtualBox will help you create a Virtual Machine - VM on which you can install any other OS. That way, you will have your RHEL running and one or more Guest OSes running on it simultaneously. Dual Booting is headache sometimes.
