Drive 99 Percent Full. I have got a New 1Tb External ...HELP!!! WHAT NEXT

I have a nice amd athlon 64 that i got in 2006

i am running hardy heron linux and love the graphical stuff...

problem is fujitsu 160 gb drive is full

just got i tera byte new drive

a "Green Drive"

So i want my computer to be most effecient again

What NEXT!!!!! SHould be a simple transfer of info?

My Distribution is Unbuntu

I recommend you move some of your data from the 160 GB drive to the 1 TB drive. If you'd like more info than that, you will need to give us more info to work off of.

I just wanted to know, what processes are running for a long time. You, never know they might using any particular file which could be eating all the space.
I have faced this problem, so just asked it for a thought.

The best would be to wait until Wyatt Tuttle actually tell use *exactly* what does he want to do.

The procedure will be entirely different if he wants to replace the driver or if he wants to just attach and mount it to start storing info.

Okay, first off, no need for six posts in 20 minutes. Write one post, think about whether it's everything you need to say before you submit, and if you need to add something, there's an edit button for a reason. Also no need for bold; that's like posting a sign outside your office that says you need help and then shouting at the people who come in to ask what's up.

As for your actual problem, we gave you two commands and asked for their output. I'd still like to see `df -h`, as that might make it obvious where your storage is being used and how to rearrange your data. You were also asked for `top -bn1 | head -n 20`, and while you did clearly look into that, it's a bad idea to do anything other than post the exact output from these commands. Get back to us with this and we can try to figure out what you need to move around to do this.

Edit: Make that seven posts. Seriously, collect your thoughts before you post.

Also, watch the amount of vertical white space you are using and please stop using bold type except for parts of a sentence that need to be emphasized.
