Dolphin mount points: Where?
 

Hi there,

I have a simple question, that has probably answered more than once, but unfortunately I haven't found the answer among thousands of search hits for the keywords I used.

Using the KDE file manager I can mount an NFS share with Dolphin by choosing "Network" in the side bar and then entering nfs://ip-address as the path, e. g.: nfs://192.168.100.1

Now, sometimes I would like to access the same NFS share from the CLI. But where is the mount point? Using the mount command never shows anything that has been mounted with Dolphin...

I'd be grateful, if someone could provide a clue or point me to a web spot or documentation on this.

Dolphin and other file browsers have SMB, ssh and NFS clients built in so you can access network shares but they are not really mounted. Dolphin just creates a virtual folder.

I am not aware of any way to access network shares via dolphin from the command line.

Ok, that explains, why I was unable to found any traces of these "virtual folders" used at mount points. ;)

Well, I'm not sure why no one called me on this. When the share is mounted in Dolphin check your
/home/username/.gvfs/ directory.
