Dolphin group files in view patch ?
 
In http://forum.kde.org there was a thread (which I cannot find now) about adding a group view feature to Dolphin

This feature groups the files displayed to meaningful grous, like :

Without

One of the main devs said (without explanation) something like "This feature request is marked won't fix, any patches submitted to implement it are rejected"



This suggests that there might be such patch in existance, which i can aply myself and compile. I id not fing any with google

Is there another way to find it if it exists ? Perhaps you know some distro that ships patched Dolphin that i can recompile for my distro ?

It sounds like they are uninterested in the config file idea, but they did keep the group option under View-Sort By-Groups.
You can create your own groups, or use ones that shipped with Dolphin.
I suppose there must be a place these things are saved that you could configure... download the source and search around the code for references to group.
