Disable hwcursor in debian 6

Hi,

I'm having trouble figuring out how to best disable the hwcursor in debian 6 without affecting anything else. I need to do this in order to fix the random disappearing of the mouse pointer in X.

I think I'm using nouveau as my graphics driver, log also contains 'LoadModule: nv"' and 'LoadModule: "vesa"' among others so I'm not really sure. (How to check?)

There is no xorg.conf and no xorg.conf.d, I haven't changed anything regarding X11 from default.

How to disable hwcursor without affecting anything else?

Help much appreciated!
Also this is my first post here, hello everyone!
