I've got a dual monitor setup on an nvidia based graphics card. I have successfully setup both monitors, but the problem I'm having is that I have it setup where one of my monitors vertical resolutions are outside of it's physical dimensions. The numbers are:
Monitor 1: 19" LCD at 1600x1200
Monitor 2: 19" LCD-Wide at 1440x900
So on monitor 2 the actual resolution is:
1440x1200
And when I move my mouse near the top of Monitor 1, it "pans" Monitor 2 to it's top.
Ideally I'd like to be able to have Monitor 1 and Monitor 2 both at their native resolutions and have the windows simply shrink/grow as they move between monitors. Which also means I do indeed want a "shared" destkop, not 2 separate desktops that I cannot share windows between.
I assume I haven't gotten a response because Nvidia doesn't play well with Xinerama and Compiz-Fusion apparently. In the future if anyone is in the same boat, your [only good] options are to either not have Compiz-Fusion (use metacity, or any other DE/WM), or not have Xinerama (use TwinView instead), at least not at the same time using the above mentioned versions of those applications/drivers.
