Debian Testing problem with reboot/shutdown

Hi
I have recently switched to debian testing from ubuntu.I have some experiences with Debian so installation was straight forward for me. Everything was good, till yesterday. I have strange problem with reboot and shutdown. Cause I am compiling my custom kernel ( for fun I think ) I wanted reboot and try new kernel. But reboot doesnt work only hard reset work ( long press on shutdown button).

So I tried to switch to another kernel, but same problem. So I don't think its have something to do with kernel. After that I had idea try to shutdown but it also doesn't work. Both reboot and shutdown freeze on login console ( when it kill X, it switches to tty1).

During that freeze I tried to switch to tty7 ( where X run) and there was reboot/shutdown output of init. It stopped on
Code:
using makefile-style concurrent boot in runlevel 6
I tried to check logs but in kernel.log was nothing strange, in syslog also nothing weird but I really don't know where can I found logs about reboot?.

Also I have no idea what can be cause of that. I wanna really solve this problem... Thanks for any help

Not sure if I can help but if I were you I would look in your /etc/inittab file & post.

This file controls your run level and after reading your comments its sounds like there is a conflict in run-level 6 (reboot).

Great News. Ubuntu does not use the inittab, I believe it uses "bum" .
