Debian, kdm config as sudo

I want to config kdm, using sudo on a Debian laptop, but it won't accept my sudo password.

Any idears?

It's asking for the root password not your user (sudo) password..

buy that dialog box is confusing.. kde su - please enter root password..

Per my request, root is disabled. I selected 'expert' during the Debian install.

Applications should be configured to use kdesudo instead of kdesu. kdesu does not support sudo operations.
