Debian hangs on shutdown from x

My problem is:

-System boots ok.

-After kdm gets loaded, I can switch to and use the virtual terminals (Ctrl+Alt+(F1..F6)) without problems.

-When I run "#shutdown now" "#reboot" "#shutdown -h now" commands from these consoles, system gives me this error (It shuts down or reboot anyway).

error: rc exited outside the expected code flow

This cames from lines 31 to 33 from /etc/init.d/rc wich are these:

Code:
 on_exit() {
    echo "error: '$scriptname' exited outside the expected code flow."
}
-If I do login on kdm, so KDE starts, when I try to switch to the VT's, shutdown, reboot or turn back to kdm pressing Alt+Ctrl+BkSp, my screen gets black, keyboard do not respond (neither do SysReq key sequences).

-This behaviour is kind of random, It used to happen with an average of 90% (more or less).

-I can clone the problem by killing "kwrapper" process.

-Using Alt+SysReq+
R - Switch keyboard from RAW mode to Xterm mode (it works)
E - Send SIGTERM signal to every process excepting init (my computer hangs with blank screen)

-No log in /var/log/ shows any problem (or I couldn't find it).

- #lspci

-Booting my kernel with below parameters do not solve the problem:
- vga=normal
- acpi=force
- apm=off
My default vga parameter is vga=791 for bootsplash to work.

-Problem happens both with my manually-compiled kernel and debian repository's binary "linux-image-2.6.22-3-686".

Unhappy

Still no idea about the cause of the problem, I just don't know where to look for information. I'm able to read the boot log, but, ¿where is the one for the shutdown procces?, how can I activate it?.

When I'm switching from X to the VT's, what am I doing at a lower level?, I don't want to reinstall every single thing again, (I can't now anyway... damned exams...), and also I really want to fix this...

My english is getting worst each day, my apologies if I'm hardly understandable.

I'm getting this too, but with a different process. The shutdown process gets as far as:

...
Will now switch to single-user mode.
INIT: Going single user
INIT: Sending processes the TERM signal
error: 'single' exited outside the expected code flow.
INIT: Sending processes the KILL signal

It then asks for the root password, Ctrl-D returns me to the login prompt.

Does anyone know what's causing this?
