dbus-daemon hogging CPU Linux Mint 12
Running Linux Mint 12 on my Sony Vaio. Its been running well for almost a month now without any trouble and my computer is the fastest its ever been. However today I came back from some errands and the computer was locked. When I shook the mouse it took forever for me to get the password prompt (the disk light was on constant). When I finally got to my desktop the CPU and memory usage were 100% and I had to control-alt-backspace as it was so bogged down I couldn't do anything. I decided to give it a restart and see if the problem would go away, however when I logged back in after a restart, dbus-daemon is using consistantly 70+% of the CPU.
Any reason why this would suddenly start? Thanks in advance! |
Hmm, after logging out and logging back in the background CPU usage has returned to somewhat normal levels, however whenever I open the system monitor to get a more accurate reading than the panel applet I'm using, dbus-daemon starts hogging the CPU.
