Date n time reset on every login on Ubuntu 10.04.
Hi,
I bought new desktop(AMD Phenom X4, Asus motherboard). I have installed Win7 and with wubi i've installed Ubuntu. I noticed that on every login, though i have set right timezone, time and date keeps changing on every login. Meaning wrong time. - why is this happening? - how do i resolve this? Thanks in advance, Sudhir. |
probably a wubi problem
but is the wubi /ubuntu setting the time by the amount of time of your time zone if so that is a very common bug ON THE MS windows OS it dose NOT play nice with linux utc you must turn off the ( much better utc) time setting in linux and use the MS set time turn off utc unfortunately one side affect will be that some forum replays to you will be posted BEFORE you posted the question ( this happens only sometimes and not all the time ) and is rare . |

Hey John and RockDoctor,
Thanks for your time, really appreciate it. Quote:
How did i resolve finally? - Right click on Date-Time shown in the above bar(is that menu bar?) choose 'Preferences'. - Go to 'Locations' tab and click 'Add' - type location(Ubuntu automatically loads matching locations) and click 'Ok' - Click on Date-Time, a calendar drops, - click on Locations on the left bottom corner, - Take mouse over your location and on right 'Set' button appears, click 'Set'. -- katharnakh |
