Continues Updates
I wonder why to different users on a UBUNTU desktop must install the same software twice.
The other days I was prompted for 1313 files when my logged in after 2 month ? All these was in place on my account - and there we used this - temporarily. My point is - why is it so important to do all these update BEFORE you can do your own work ? Regards Mike |
I don't really get your question, you don't have to update anything if you don't want to. Updates are important to apply for obvious reasons, like security vulnerabilities, and so should be applied as soon as available. If you turn your machine off for 24 hours and turn it back on again, one of the first things that will happen is it checks for updates. No reason for you to be compelled to apply them in the slightest though.

an update being run via the system update tools, like synaptic, are not installed on a per user basis. There will be something else outside of proper operation here, e.g. both accounts are logged in and both are reporting a pending update, and when it's run it's successful but then the other user still has those updates listed, despite not being required.
