Connected pendrive can't be found in /dev/ folder.
 

Hi.
I've installed Fedora 19 x64 with KDE from the official Fedora installation DVD and I have a little problem with that. When I connect my 8GB Kingston pendrive to my notebook, it cannot be mounted, because there is no entry in the /dev/ folder, but with other pendrives i have no problem. Under other distros I didn't have problem with this. Can you help me? (Reinstalling OS is not a solution for me!) (I tried to install Fedora 19 with XFCE to an other drive and with that I had no problem.)

you are looking in the wrong place. as root type the following command when you plug in the USB device:

you will see the USB device connect and you will see its path /dev/sdX#

But there is no sdb in /dev/ folder!

well its funny since yesterday i was reading a book about it. So i said, lets dig in...
The book mentioned about usbmgr and hotplug which after a little search it seems these are obsolete (i am reading this book for the LPI exams.. damn)
As you mention, indeed in my case, plugging in the pendrive, the sdb# comes up under /dev.
Maybe the modules in your kernel are not there, as they should be (which would be strange to my opinion). modinfo usb-storage will show that. In my case i got an answer, which i think it means that the module is there.
Another search in google, directed me to www.linux-usb.org . There i found out that mass storage driver presents the USB device as a SCSI device and indeed more /proc/scsi/scsi showed just exactly that in my case. I can see my usb there.
Another thing i found out, is that under /dev/bus/usb/001 a new file comes up everytime i plug in the pendrive. The last one was 006.
Comparing my /var/log/kern.log.1 to your /var/log/messages (well i am on Ubuntu so i guess there is no /var/log/messages in my case)i saw that they differ in the last 3 lines (of YOUR output). So another googling with reset high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci-pci showed that it is probably a kernel bug. And the solutions are:
patch for the kernel
downgrade to previous kernel

- removes file 006 from /dev/bus/usb/001
- removes the record from the /proc/scsi/scsi file

I rebooted with the original 3.9.5 kernel and it worked. With the latest one still not working. Where can i report this bug?

Updating to the newest 3.10.7 kernel fixed this bug.

file a bugzilla for your distro. odds are that the new kernel fix already had this reported.
