I am trying to get my Dad's computer working with his Samsung SyncMaster 712N, and am having some trouble.

I am 2000 miles away which doesn't help with the debug either.

He says that he can't get to the bottom of his screen at all to get to the menus, etc. Which tells me that he may be in a lower resolution than he desires.

Can anyone help here?

He is using CentOS 5

right now, does doing ctrl-alt-+/- help ?


try removing the line of Modes ... that is change it to ..
now xorg will run on autodetected modes. After this go to KDE display settings and try fiddling with the resolution there.
