Configuring multiple Xine engines in Kaffeine

I'm running Mandriva Linux 2007 x86_64.

With libdvdcss and the other dvd libs and everything, the audio and video doesn't sync up while playing DVD's in Kaffeine. It's happened with multiple DVD's while using the Xine engine, but they work fine in mplayer. I've researched it quite a bit, and discovered that it's most likely an issue with the Xine-lib due to dropped video frames.

With my repositories configured, lib64xine1-1.1.2-4plf2007.0 is the xine engine that I have installed. There aren't any other xine-lib packages for my distro/arch (that I have found). I downloaded and compiled xine and it installed into '/usr/local/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.2/post'.

It would be great to just remove the packaged xine and use the compiled version, but there are too many other programs (like amarok and freevo) that depend on that package being installed.

I configured kaffeine with './configure --with-extra-libs=/usr/local/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.2/post'. With this compiled version of kaffeine player installed I still get the same out-of-sync issues.

Is there a way to compile (or configure an existing installation of) kaffeine to use my new compiled xine engine? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also - I've found some posts about needing libxine-devel to properly compile Kaffeine. Is that part the xine that I compiled?

~Joe
