Configure to use one console?

Hello,

How do I configure the system to use only one console? I would like to see all the system messages (printk, etc) to go to the main console (Ctrl-Alt-F1) instead of Ctrl-Alt-F10 console. I am using SUSE 10.2. Many thanks!

if you chekc /etc/syslog.conf you'll probably see reference there to a tty to print to, just change that.

Hello,

Thanks for trying to help. SUSE uses something call syslog-ng. I found a file /etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf and changed the line with "tty10" to "tty1". Unfortunately this only stopped log messages going to tty10, none got to tty1. Restoring the file back to original, got the messages to go to tty10 again. Thanks.
