Ok, strange one here, running SuSE 10.3, Compiz-Fusion and everything works great.
Except, i select a skydome image and it loads, but if i restart KDE the skydome is not there, i check the settings and the file is still listed, but no image in the skydome. If i select a different image, it appears, if i select the original image, it appears, but no matter what image i select, after a restart of KDE, it is no longer in the skydome but the file is still listed in the settings manager.
Before posting this, i did do a thorough search on the web, and i found no other posting of this, so if someone else is experiencing this, i would be happy for any help that could be given.
Wow, a little disapointed, I had thought by now there would at least be an attempt at a reply. Just to update, I have updated Compiz, and I still am producing the same results. Is there at least any one else out there with the same problem?
Ok, to start with, I did check the compiz web site, found absolutely no similar problem, and an invalid solution.
I did however find a solution of my own. The images I was using were jpeg images, and even though i have jpeg images selected with compiz, still the problem persisted. So i experimented and used gimp to convert the images to png files and now it works. Not sure why, but i can live with that, for now.
It's been my understanding that skydomes must be of png or svg format - but I've read that if the display plugins (svg, png, jpeg) are enabled (in "image loading") they can be used also
