Compiz fully been pulled for Debian?

Today, I was working on making my Desktop nice and flashy and was going to take compiz out of Sid (unstable) and I noticed that it wasn't in there, that it was removed?

Am I seeing this right? Any suggestions on finding compiz prebuilt for wheezy or jessie?

Well, it looks like its no longer availible, so If I want it, I have to compile it. I guess I have to compile emerald theme manager too anyways.

Emerald theme manager is part of emerald and emerald is still being maintained by die-hard emerald fans. Even though this repository was meant for Ubuntu you may find a workable version at:
http://ppa.launchpad.net/nilarimogard/webupd8/

Compiz is not present in Sid because it is not developed anymore. You might want to try Kwin instead, it has similar features and can be used outside of KDE.

The old packages are still available at snapshot.debian.org

after I've failed to get all features working correctly with compiz after building it, I did move to kwin on top of xfce

There is a way to use emerald within kwin
check out:
https://launchpad.net/~samrog131/+ar...mo=75&start=75
a package called: kwin-style-smaragd (Emerald for KDE)
available for ubuntu-precise and quantal e.g. :
https://launchpad.net/~samrog131/+ar...ppa1_amd64.deb
There are some other interesting packages on that site like the:
kwin-effect-nightmode
Via a keyboard shortcut you can dim the whole desktop for night viewing.
Since these files are for Ubuntu, also a Debian based system, they may work OK.
