Change Font Size Programatically

Hi Everyone

I am now writing some scripts that take advantage of the ANSI color escape codes, i.e [00:31m for red.

I am just wondering if there is a way to change the font size through something similar? I am trying to generate a plot with ASCI art and I would like to make tiny letters for "pixels" and then switch back to regular font.

Thanks in advance-Patrick

Unfortunately, no, there's no way to change the size of individual letters in a text terminal. Every letter must be the exact same size. Even things like proportional width fonts are verboten.

If you're doing complex graphics, you might be better served by looking at a GUI toolkit, e.g., GTK or QT.

The terminal is not like a word processor, it's like a grid of cells, each containing a character.
