Caps lock key reversed

In the middle of writing in OO.o Writer, the Caps Lock Key began using all upper case when the alert light is on and using lower case when the light is off. What might I have done to cause this and how do I fix it?

What is the "alert light"? The Caps Lock light on your keyboard?

Haven't seen that problem in quite a while, but for me, it would come from hitting something like Ctl-CapsLock or Alt-CapsLock by mistake.

To quote The IT Crowd, "Have you tried turning it on and off again?"

I know this is really old, but pasting this as it helped in my case.

Please try running these commands from the console (CTRL + ALT + F1 and login):
setleds +caps
setleds -caps

See whether LED changes

This thread may be old, but just wanted to say that the "setleds" command worked for me. :)

I had unplugged and replugged in my keyboard to untangle some wires. This saved me from rebooting my Centos 6.3 machine.

Thanks.
