Cannot Start X server
 
Hi,

I required Fedora 10 on my server, while installing in GUI, the system goes blank.
So I had installed Fedora in text mode.

After installing, from my command prompt I had issued startx command.
And It throwed below error and in /etc/X11/ i had not find x11org.conf file
I need a help to fix this

What videocard do you have? Some ATI version?

Hi,

I have a below Graphics driver

[root@bng-vhost02-dcbg log]# lspci -v | less | grep VGA

[root@bng-vhost02-dcbg log]#

I had tried below steps to bring up the X server...but not success full

system-config-display --noui
started the X server but failed

system-config-display --set-driver=nv
started the X server but failed

system-config-display --set-driver=nividia
started the X server but failed

rm /etc/X11/Xorg.conf
Xorg --configure
mv /root/Xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/Xorg.conf

started the X server but failed

nvidia is the driver for an NVidia card. For a server, the generic "vesa" driver may be fine for a server.
There is a "radeon" driver for ATI Radeon chips.
