Can I start Windows XP from my Linux shell?

Can I start Windows XP from my Linux shell?

Background:

-I have Windows XP Home original (sry ;) )
-It's installed on a separate harddisk

Are there some tools outthere to make this possible? Do I need tools for that?

I'm asking, because it's possible to start Linux from Windows XP command line. And it would be nice to switch, because I'm a gamer.

I really really hate M$ Windows, when will it be possible to play ALL GAMES without problems on Linux? When?

The best choice would be to press ALT+F2 (or other key) and I have Windows XP, press ALT+F1 I have Linux.... whises

If you have a powerful computer and plenty of hard drive space, you can try vmware. It's an windows emulator for Linux. You can install xp in vmware and install your games in it also. That way you have windows inside linux. I have tried it myself and it works well.

The other option is a dual boot so you can have linux and windows on one hard drive. The only caveat to this is you have to reboot to switch from linux to windows and vice versa.

wine works super with world of warcraft, but what is with copy protected games? I don't want to use nocd-cracks.

I'm using vmware, and it works super, but no 3d acceleration.

I will create a dualboot on my machine.

Thx for your answers...

on every distribution CD/DVD exists a dos tools directory and there is a loadlin.exe. With this program you can start your linux out of the command line...
