Can't startx KDE on new system
I have had to replace my old Linix Slackware system with an upgraded hardware purchased from Wierdstuff Warehouse.
I have Slackware 10.2
My system is a P4 2.4GHZ with 512 MB of memory.
I had Slackware 10.2 and KDE running on my old system. When I loaded the new system with Linux and ran xorgsetup the file xorg.conf was created.
When I entered startx the system locked up and the message on the screen was Out of Frequency.
The new hardware has the video on the motherboard. The xorg.conf file indicates that the onboard video is 8284G/GL [Brookdale-G] Chipset. The driver is i810. The vendor is Intel.
I have looked at the approved hardware list and cannot find this board.
My question is, can this board be used with X11, KDE, or should I buy a PCI board that can be used. I would use the video board from my of machine but it is not PCI.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
