Can't login on KDE

I just moved my entire installation to another hard disk. The system boots fine and I can login on console. But KDE refuses to let me in. It just won't accept my password.

I had that problem once, lots of files had been changed to owner 5001 when I restored my backup, and I fixed it running 'chown -R luc /home/luc' but this time it's not working. What does KDE want anyway?

I've been unable to use my desktop for several hours now and all I have is my cell phone. I can't get help elsewhere.

TIA

OK, I fixed it. The /tmp directory write access was blocked to ordinary users. Case closed.
