Beryl Window Manager / Emerald Theme Manager Not Changing With ATi Drivers.

Hey, thanks again for your time.

As the title says, When I run Beryl-Manager, the splash screen does not show up, and when I select Beryl in the Window Manager, it reverts back to the KDE one, because it crashes. Emerald Theme Manager also seems to not be able to change any themes. It was working when I was using the Livna drivers from Yum, but now with the ATi Drivers 8.32.05, it seems to not work. Could it be because AIGLX is not supported yet by ATi? If so, I can somehow use XGL instead for Beryl, right?

Thanks again in advance.

Yes, you have to use XGL instead of AiGLX. If you can I'd avoid anything with the ATI logo on it in the future. Their drivers SUCK.

You can't change emerald themes if beryl is not running - it doesn't work. You have to get beryl running first, and to get beryl running you have to get XGL running. I don't know how to do that in Fedora - I'm a Gentoo guy myself. You'll have to google XGL in Fedora or ask someone with experience with that distro. If your old drivers were working, why not just switch back?

talking about XGL, i run XGL on my machine and it consumes high CPU usage (near 25%).
is it normal? does it need some tweaks??

thanks in advance
