I am currently setting up a new os (as well as many others) on a new machine.
My old system is one whole partition and the new one is broken into several LVM partions so that it is shareable among several os .
I have a script that will create several snapshots of my home fs and at the end of the week it will merge the contents with the original LVM after making a backup, this is the easiest method I found to backup my whole system.
since it is a new system it has no data. Is there any app that can export data and configurations for every associated program (for the conf I am working on it) seperatly or do I need to depend on the program itself?
for example I want to export the bookmarks of my web browser from old machine to new machine? or export mail
Can I use a cloud based system(a locally maintained one) for this type of job?
