autofs timeout not working

I have the following in /etc/auto.master

/home/HPRS /etc/auto.domUsers --timeout=1200

that *should* give me a timeout of 20 minutes if I understand the man page correctly. However, in as little as a minute the mount is apparently unmounted, even if a file is in use. It takes approximately 25 seconds to get the folder re-mounted when e.g. an editor save operation is performed.

Any ideas?

Ubuntu 15.10, autofs 5.1.1-1ubuntu2

Try using
Code:
--timeout 1200
*no '='

From man auto.master
Quote:
-t, --timeout <seconds>

Set the expire timeout for map entries. This option can be used to override the global default given either on the command line or in the configuration.
This might be helpful as well...

Yes, that seems to have done it. I might try -t 1200 as well. I've checked the original auto.master and the man page and nowhere do I see the timeout=nnn syntax. I must have gotten that off a web-posted example.
