Question Auto start Suse 12.3 and KDE

Hi,

I would like a user account to AutoLogin to the KDE desktop (not just terminal) and launch a pre configured Nagios url from that machine... ?

A lot of the documentation out there suggests rc.conf but then again this appears outdated now.

What is the best way to achieve this?

If kdm is installed and in use. You can enable auto login by opening systemsettings, going to 'login screen', 'convenience' tab, tick 'enable auto-login' change 'pre select user' to 'specified' and select the user you want to auto login. tick 'enable password-less logins' and then tick the name of the desired user.

I don't know what Nagios is, so i can't help you with that. Good luck.

You should have an Autostart directory in /home/user/.kde4/ where you can put a script to start Nagios. Check the link below:
