Question artwiz fonts are not being recognized on my system

For example when I do aterm -fn snap, receive the em:

$ aterm -fn snap&
$ aterm: can't load font "snap

Artwiz fonts (*.pcf) and other ttf fonts have been download and saved to: ~/.fonts

I have tried without success:
$ xfontsel
$ fc-list: to view list of monospaced clint-side fonts
$ fc-cache -fv: rebuilds cached list of fonts
$ dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig

I had review similar threats without having success, some of them do not apply for my distro or simply wont work.
