app to view current X config

Hi,

X no longer creates an /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.

Is there an *application* to view the current X configuration ?

I know there was a tool named as 'xdpyinfo' used in various scripts/tools for fetching X information. You can check it out.

Hi rosehosting,

The following command displays the extensions loaded, I assume that an X11 video driver is categorised as an extension. If so, then that's very helpful, thank you.

Code:

xdpyinfo -ext all

I'm really sorry but I'm not quite sure (they should be extensions/modules for X) if a video driver is categorized as an extension, but I know that 'xdpyinfo' can give you an extensive information about your current X configuration.

You can create an xorg.conf: http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/create...conf-file.html
