Anoying drop-down lists behavior (hold clic and release clic to select)

I have updated to lucid lynx and I found an anoying behavior for the drop-down lists
the current behavior is:
you clic over the list button to actually see the list (the several options) but if you release the clic, it hides, so you have to hold the mouse button until you move the cursor over the choice you want to select and then, release the button...
desired behavior:
clic+release to see the options list, clic+release to select.
I don't know if this is a gnome, metacity or beryl configuration...
Note: this happens in nautilus and other windows, but not inside a program (like firefox) where I get the desired behavior.
