Angry amule recently not installing in FC6 using yum

Hello,

I made a full upgrade to FC6 and now I cannot install amule using yum. Using just the rpm it would be a pain because of the many dependencies it has. The weird thing is that the package amule figure in the software list of the different repos sites I use but when I try to install in yum it does not work. The program says there is not match for the argument. Somebody knows what is going on?????

Thanks.

Hi Fabian,

Did you have it installed on a previous FC distribution? I repeatedly failed to install it on FC3, the instructions were messy, the rpms I found pretended to install it and then they wouldn't uninstall it! A total mess. Then I discovered and installed Azureus which did it for me. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Good luck!

Unhappy

Yeap... I did install it in FC5. Unfortunatelly Azureus just make for popular things and not for smaller and more singular stuff. I am still thinking that there is something wrong with the repos. Not in my configuration but in the servers... however I will wait for a confirmation...

thanks for dropping by though...

All I can say is that amule installed just fine for me on FC6, on a clean install and fully updated system. I only have the core, extras and livna repositories but amule even appears in the graphical add/remove software utility, so livna is not needed. Did you try to install it through the gui?

U are not going to believe it but amule does not appear in the add/remove software utility. I even did a full update with yum to check if yum was OK and several programs were updated just fine. Any other ideas?
