Is there a way to create a menu item to launch a .txt document?

If you simply put gedit in the command box, it opens but if you add a path to a file after it, as you would on a command line, then nothing happens.

It works OK for me, as with
gedit miscellaneous/notes
Have you got the path right? In than case, gedit starts but obviously doesn't load anything.

If I put gedit /home/Andy/Scripts/Scripts.txt into a terminal window, my file opens as expected.

If I simply put gedit into the Menu item command: box the OK button is high-lighted and the editor opens.

But if I enter gedit /home/Andy/Scripts/Scripts.txt the OK button remains greyed out.
