Add/Remove doesn't let me download new programs
 
hi all,
I am at a loss as to what is wrong with Add/Remove. For all items that are not installed, it says: "X cannot be installed on your computer type (i386)." Does anyone know whats wrong?

This has been reported in the past for Ubuntu installations. If this is the case, try the solution in this thread, post #7.

The preferences button he mentions doesn't appear to exist. Perhaps this is because I am using 8.04.
