Accessing files/directories using konqueror

I am running fedora core 5

It is not a good idea to run a desktop as root.

Normally if you want to make an administrative change, like create a user the system asks for the root password and away you go.

Using Konqueror I would like to create files and directories in a system area, such as the web directory. Since the files are owned by apache I can't make changes and Konqueror doesn't prompt for the root password.

Is there a way to make these changes from a normal user desktop?

You could use "kdesu konqueror", however, I would use su or sudo and do it in the console instead of using konqueror. Using sudo, your steps will be logged so if there is a problem, later you can examine the logs to locate your mistake.
