Hi there rootscan
I am studying for the RHCSS examination track. I'm planning to take all three papers on consecutive days towards the end of this month. Preparations are proceeding - not as well as I'd like - but proceeding nevertheless. Its a tough examination environment and requires quite a high degree of conceptual clarity. Also, a good memory is a prerequisite as many of the commands and their attendant options and switches can be pretty befuddling. On balance though, as journeys go, its not a bad journey and the destination is certainly worth the slog. Best wishes from a co-traveller (I thinks that's a hamsafar, isn't it? :-) ) |
Hi Trin,
I like your spirit and enthusiasm on RHCSS. Taking all 3 tests back to back is tough but you can if you have been practising well. I couldn't find anyone who have appeared in the test. I like the LDAP paper as it is very important for those who want to be techy and use LDAP in solutioning and architecting various products. (Humsafar) is fine as we both are working on RHCSS :) Let me know how has been the preparation so far, I met an accident and can't move due to fracture in my leg, i had scheduled SELINUX for 4th of Feb but can't appear, very dissappointing but I will do it whenever it is rescheduled. Let's share some work experience and future plans on security. Nice to see post from you :) Rootscan |
Hi rootscan
I'm very sorry to hear about your accident. I do hope that you get better soon. I suppose, if you look on the bright side, at least you get a few extra days of seclusion, rest and practice! You were thinking of taking the SELinux paper? Have you taken any others yet? How are your preparations going? I've knuckled down and am working pretty intensively according to a basic timeframe Ive got in my head. I'm hopeful that I'll be reasonably prepared by the 20th or so. Keep me posted on how you're doing. |
Hi Trin,
I am recovering but it would take time as its the bone that has to heal and get strong. I am planning to prepare for the other papers also but don't want to move too fast as the application of Selinux is rare to see or you can say there aren't many organizations using Linux and doing much on Linux security. A lot of practice is required when it comes to any certification exam on Linux as everything you have to memorize and have a good grip on. I am excited about you appearing in RHCSS exam, my best wishes to you. I use skype and gmail to chat and interact with people so let me know if you too use skype and gmail chat. Cheers |
