if anyone provides any details of a RedHat exam they are in breach of the NDA they signed before starting the exam. You may find the topics covered on RHCA exams (along with all RedHat exams) at https://www.redhat.com/training/. If you would like the material delivered in a RedHat training course, you should sign up for the course with RedHat and attend so that you are provided training material. However, if you are familiar with the material listd in the course outlines, you may decide to skip the training class and go directly after the exam.

I'd add that it will require a substantial amount of knowledge and expertise to earn a RHCA cert.
Even if the NDA were not in place - which it absolutely is - why would anyone give you "documents" to cheat on the tests? (That's what you are asking for, right?) It would diminish the value of their own accomplishment by flooding the market with unskilled / novice "certified pros". |

3rd party material for certificates of expertise.
I'm not sure what sunilcoolsharma is asking for.
But when I did my Novell Linux CLA, CLP, and CLE I got given the official training material from work. When I did my RHCSA, RHCE I did self study with Peter Jiang's books. I am keen to do some of the certificates of expertise but the official training is very expensive - $4000 a pop in Australia. I've had a look around and can't see a similar styled book like Peter Jiang's for these. I suspect there isn't a big market for these. Has any one written a 3rd party book to prepare for any of these post RHCE exams? I don't think gaining 3rd party study material is against policy. I told the Redhat lady who booked my exams that I was using Jiang's book. Didn't mind in the slightest. |

If you don't breach those things and do something like tell someone that they must know ntp but don't worry about ptp, giving exact exam details, there is no problem. For higher level than rhce, the books most likely don't exist because there would not be nearly as many people doing those certs. Once you get into the highly specialized things like that, companies will either have their own instructors or pay for official courses on your behalf. I cannot see myself even bothering to get the architect sort of certs and paying for it myself. Actually, i don't even have the rhcsa, not that i don't want them, but before doing a cert someone has to guarantee that it will be useful for them and they won't leave you high and dry, unless they pay for it, but then you would not be the one worrying about books. |
Thanks ericson007.
I would like to go onto them. Most of my learning in Linux has been on the job (bottom up). But in all my certs ill (top down learning) i've found out little bits and pieces here and there & found them to cement all your knowledge together. Doing the stuff without Google helps with speed on a day to day basis too. Its a shame that I can't just purchase self study material from Redhat. It took me one full year working through my RHCSA and RHCE. Studying here and there - sitting exams. Ideally would like to do one of these other certs - one a year. Its not for career - more for interest/hobby. I love learning new Linux stuff & this is where the real interesting things lie. Its just weather or not I can afford it. And get the time off work. |
Yellowzinc, if "professional education and self-improvment" would require either "time off work" or "money out of your own pocket" ...
... then you are working for the wrong employer! :jawa: "Vendor certifications" are not finding a Golden Ticket. They are, at best, "sip from the firehose" Professional Education. Your employer should be paying for you to go to these courses. If this is not the case, then broach the subject with your manager as soon as possible ... and listen(!!!!) to the response!
