Linux+ Training for LPIC1?

So, this may sound kinda odd....I've decided, independently, to pursue LPIC1 ( I really like that there are further levels, unlike Linux+).

Now I've just received an email from my manager informing us that our company has a relationship with an IT training center. It just so happens that they offer a 4-day Linux+ training class.

So my question is this: is Linux+ training any good toward achieving LPIC1?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.
