Hi umamaheswari,

I would say certificates are just piece of papers without knowledge. You can definitely go for certifications but they will not be useful until you have the hands on experience.

Certification will depend on which Unix flavour you are working on. So you have to tell us on which platform you are currently working and then we can suggest you about relevant certifications.

Hi umamaheswari,

What umamaheswari was expecting back as an answer for Unix flavour is kinf of
CentOS
RHEL
Gentoo
UNIX
HP-UX
AIX
SL
...
So please clarify.

If google for Unix/Linux certifications, you will receive hints to
RHCSA, RHCE, RHCSS, RHCDS, RHCA (http://www.redhat.com/certification/rhce)
LPI (http://www.lpi.org/linux-certifications)

Tshikose
