advice for rhce/rhct

hello guys,
i want to give rhce , i don't have rhcsa cetification though but some people said that i have to give rhcsa and then rhce is true?
if i give rhce they will ask me to take rhcsa or not?
if i fail in rhce but if i done well in rhcsa part can i atleast get rhcsa?

The full day RHCE exam contains the RHCSA syllabus, therefore if you only pass to the criteria of the RHCSA you will still leave with that certification. If you already have an RHCSA / RHCT certiciation you will still need to redo that part of the RHCE exam, you can't just do the "extra stuff"

Not true. In RHEL5, the RHCE exam was RHCT/RHCE combined. If you were already RHCT, you effectively had to reprove yourself again.

In RHEL6, the morning exam is just RHCSA questions, and the afternoon exam is just RHCE questions.

If you just pass the RHCSA exam, you will be RHCSA. You can resit just the afternoon RHCE exam at a later date and become RHCE.

If you just pass the afternoon RHCE exam, you will be nothing (yet) but Red Hat will remember and credit you if you retake and pass the RHCSA exam.

Ugh, I thought I was up to date on this newfangled RHCSA. At least re-certifying once my RHEL4 RHCE has expired (next month?) Will be cheaper assuming I do that then...

'fraid not. RHCEs on RHEL4 have already expired (60 days after RHEL6 GA back in Novemeber). The cost of the doing the 2 separate exams should be the same as doing the old combined RHCE. The benefit is, if you only part fail, you only have to pay for that part of the exam, rather than the whole thing.

I always looked at the RHCT as a certification that says "He I took the RHCE and failed.".

Looks like RHCSA is the new RHCT? I'd rather have no cert then the RHCT..
I'm happy to say I have my RHCE though.

Maybe, but then whilst I was studying for my RHCA last year I had peers at work who couldn't even manage the RHCT...
