Recently my father purchased a copy of linspire 4.5.499 (
in place of the nonfunctioning debian ) and I helped him to set it up.
We got it running, and installed a PPPOE connection by going into the KDE control panel --> network --> pppoe configuration.
We entered in the username (XXXX@XXXXX.XXX) and password, and the connection appeared to be working - for a time.
After a while, in the off chance that it did connect, it took up to two hours for the little CNR icon to turn green (indicating that the connection was present).
We tried re-setting up the connection, but now it doesn't connect at all.
I dont want to reinstall the OS and lose all of our painstakingly entered customisations and data.
Is there some way of 'flushing' the cache of old pppoe settings or something like it?
Thanks in advance,
Christopher/Mark
