It's free as in beer, but not free as in liberty. I imagine that free as in beer means it can't include such things as Dreamweaver and similar proprietary software which require paid licensing and are included in Linspire. There is lots of proprietary free (as in beer) software included in it as well.
Sorry. I was confusing that with Crossover Office which is included with Xandros. Looking quickly over Linspire's website, I don't see any apps which require license fees, so maybe Freespire is the same thing as Linspire only without the support.
