How to listen to streaming audio in KDE?

Merry Christmas all

I would like to listen to streaming audio within KDE using KDE applications, ie, noatun or Kaboodle. I can listen to streaming audio in KDE with XMMS but not noatun or Kaboodle. Whenever I select noatun or kaboodle, nothing happens. I thought it was buffering so I waited twenty minutes and nothing. XMMS works within seconds.

What is the secret to be able to use noatun or kaboodle?

you can try invoking noatun from the command line with the source address

eg

noatun http://www.address.of.source/file

(i'm not sure if noatun or kaboodle can handle streams, i know that xmms and mplayer can)

Good idea

That is a good idea. I never thought of that. I'll try it as soon as I get home.

Thanks and have a merry Christmas!!
