JDS Live CD Problem

I have a problem with my cable connection on eth0 on the JDS Live CD, it's working fine packets are coming in and out..except I can't go on any sites, it's like it's blocked, my theory is I need authentication, but on linux it's out of the box internet, no tweaking or anything.

Do you need proxy settings? Can you see any nameserver in your /etc/resolv.conf file?
