Which GNOME version are you using (In version 2.10 it's impossible to do this with a GUI)?

You can get a program called SMEG to edit the menu with, Ive got it on Ubuntu, not sure if it is availiable for other distrobutions

i'm using gnome 2.8.0 in RHEL 4.0, i intalled SMEG but i only get a error

I FOND A SOFTWARE FORM WWW.GNOMEFILES.ORG THAT IS KNOWN AS gnome-menu-editor BUT BEFORE INSTALLING THEY HAVE TOLD TO DO SOME PATCHES TO GNOME, THIS IS WHAT THEY SAY

This is a simple menu editor for GNOME in its early stages.

As of 2005-03-29, you'll have to apply the patches

against gnome-menus before being able to compile/use GNOME Menu Editor.

HOW TO APPLY THE PATCHES ??
