Floating point exception error while starting parted

I want to adjust one of my partitions using parted/qtparted. I tried to run parted and it comes up with Floating point exception and wont start. I have tried a reinstall of it, but same result.

Any suggestions?

I was having the very same problem. Make sure you have all of your CD/DVD drives empty (it is not enough for them to be unmounted). That solved the problem for me.
