No Yast GUI while installation in SuSE 9.1 PRO !


Hi,

I have a i810 display and i would like to know why i dont get
Yast in Graphical ( point and click mode ) !
X server starts and again vanishes in 2 miliseconds. Than after that i get Yast in Tab select mode which i find really annoying. Please help. !

I assume that by tab select mode you mean the text-mode version of YaST?

The Intel i810 uses a closed-source driver that doesn't seem to be bundled with SuSE 9.1 (at least not so it's usable by the installer).

You may be able to get this to work by telling it to use VESA/VGA compatibility mode when you boot the install disk initially.

yes text mode, but i find it very hard, i would like to have gui for that, i think its there, but it doesnt work here !
please help!

also, while installation od fedora core 1 and redhat 9 , i could use anaconda without any problems !
